As part of my quest to get healthier and stay fit, I started running this past January and I am currently training for a half marathon in November. Unfortunately along with my overly physically taxing full time job and my running, I regularly suffer aches and pains.
I was thrilled to try the Salonpas Pain Relief Patch to help ease the aches and pains in my neck, back, wrist and knees. The Salonpas Pain Relief Patch is the only FDA-approved OTC pain relieving patch on the market.
When I opened the package that the company sent me I was surprised to find that the patch was so thin and lightweight. I have tried other pain relieving patches that were quite bulky and hard to keep in place. The Solanpas Pain Patch fits much like a large band aid. It is also very easy to get on and off by yourself.
The first time that I tried the patch, I placed it on a tender area on my neck. I often suffer neck pain when I have been running or after a long day at work. It took about 10 minutes until I started feeling a warm sensation. After about 30 minutes I could tell that my neck muscles were no longer as tense and the pain I was suffering had subsided. I wore the patch overnight and was very pleased with the level of pain relieve I received.
Following my initial use, I have tried the patch 2 more times. Once on my knee and another time on my wrist. Both times with tremendous pain relieving results. Overall, I am pleasantly surprised with the quality and durability of the patches. The only thing that I would change is the menthol odor from the patch. Although the smell did fade with time, initially it was quite overwhelming. I am not sure if I would necessarily want to wear the patch out in public.
