Despite my excellent ability to multitask, I am not the best at being organized. I have piles of loose papers, folders for this and that, half filled notepads and over flowing boxes filled with important documents. Some are in my make shift office down stairs, some are in the “junk basket” and some are upstairs in a box but there is no rhyme or reason to their placement and there is no way that I could quickly put my hands on something if I needed it.
When Maven House Network offered me the opportunity to review the AboutOne Family Management Information System I was very excited. Upon first glance this online data management system was exactly what I needed to digitally organize my family. Here is a description of all that AboutOne has to offer:
AboutOne is an online family information management system; ONE place, accessible anytime, anywhere, from any device, (you don’t have to be at home, and you don’t have to be on your own computer) where in just seconds busy moms can store, secure, and manage household information, including health records, possession details, education records, contacts, and family memories – both text and pictures.
AboutOne stores the information with bank-level security. Then, the system automatically uses the information you’ve entered to save you time on family administrative chores like completing school forms, college apps, caregiver instructions, and tax returns, creating family newsletters and scrapbooks, and automatically creating and mailing holiday cards. The information is also available, at your fingertips, to make informed decisions and respond quickly to an emergency. (Also coming soon is the ability to automatically create hardcover photo memory books from the memories and stories you’ve entered in AboutOne.)
Setting up my AboutOne account was extremely simple. Each family member has their own profile and their health, education and personal information is easily added by clicking on the appropriate links. I have even started going back through my children’s medical records recording vital information like medication history (just how many ear infections have there been), vaccinations, height/weight and appointments.
I have also been including Eph’s weekly educational reports and Lu’s speech therapy into the educational categories. My goal is to have enough progress that when it comes time to look at their IEP goals for next year, that I will be able to quickly review the progress.
AboutOne really has so many great features it is hard to choose which I like best. One that I just started using is the Inbox feature where you can upload pictures and memories directly to your AboutOne inbox and your family newsletter. I love this feature because there are so many great stories that happen in our daily lives that never get remembered. Cute little stories that would normally just be forgotten. Like, for example, tonight was Lu’s (and mine) first ever night of pigtails. Such a cute little memory, captured on my phone and easily uploaded to her profile on AboutOne.
My other favorite feature of the AboutOne system are the printables. Since Lulu has a life threatening food allergy, I am always very apprehensive about leaving her with a caregiver. I love these printables because they allow me to change the form easily and the pertinent information is clearly laid out for anyone who might need it. You can see a partial example here:
Overall I am very impressed with the AboutOne system. Information is easily added and organized using their safe and secure online digital system. The system is great for families of all shapes and sizes including adults and parents with children from birth to college.

This looks really interesting, thanks for sharing! My youngest daughter is severely allergic to eggs so I can totally understand your concerns there.
Have a great week!
