It has been quite a few years since I went to a high school prom. I was fortunate during that time to be invited to quite a few dances even when I wasn’t a senior. I loved getting all fancied up and even more than that I enjoyed picking out a not so traditional dress to wear. I never really had to worry about “being asked” as I usually had a ready made date in a current boyfriend but I still sweated all the details until I had that corsage carefully placed on my wrist and we were off to some beach side hotel.
When I first saw the previews Disney’s new movie PROM. I have to say that I was really excited. I absolutely love a good teen flick (who doesn’t?) and PROM looks to have all the best teen movie traits (bad boy gets good girl, geek gets girl, first kisses, and fights). Check out the preview!
Here is a description of the film:
At “Prom,” every couple has a story and no two are exactly alike. Several intersecting stories unfold at one high school as the big dance approaches; “Prom” portrays the precarious passage from high school to independence as some relationships unravel and others ignite. For Nova Prescott (Aimee Teegarden), it’s a battle of wills as she finds herself drawn to the guy (Thomas McDonell) who gets in the way of her perfect prom. Fellow seniors Mei (Yin Chang) and Tyler (De’Vaughn Nixon) harbor secrets, while others face all the insecurity and anticipation that surrounds one of high school’s most seminal events. There are hundreds of nights in high school, but there’s only one “Prom.” Featuring an emerging ensemble cast and a powerful soundtrack, “Prom” hits theaters April 29, 2011.
