This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boy Scouts of America for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have never had the opportunity to attend a Boy Scouts of America meeting but from my own personal experiences with scouting, I truly believe in the purpose and value of the organization. I was fortunate as a child to be part of a very active girl scout troop. From Brownies to Cadets, I loved being a part of a community of girls. Our troop leaders taught us to be be strong independent young women. During my last year, I was able to earn both my silver and gold award working with a deaf troop. This experience is what drove me to my current profession as a sign language interpreter.
I believe that through scouting boys have the ability to learn about hard work, survival and how to be good citizens to their community. They are able to build character and develop both mental and physical strength throughout their school years.
Boy Scouts of America offer many troops are offered throughout central Ohio that have weekly meetings, camping and other activities. I hope that they offer troops through your school or community.
Boys Scouts of America are not the group from yesteryear. They have strong focuses on health, well-being, and technology
Here are some great reasons to sign your son up today!
Scouting – Relieving The Back-To-School Tension
With every new school year comes a whole new set of challenges. New teachers. New friends. New subjects. Scouting can help round out a boy’s education and improve both his confidence and comfort level with other students. And by giving him supplementary experiences outside the classroom, there’s a good chance he’ll perform better in the classroom.
Healthy Living The Scout Way
It’s no secret that childhood obesity is a growing problem. One way to combat it is to ensure kids stay active and eat right. As a youth advocate, Scouting offers activities that help kids stay in shape and educate them on proper nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle.
Exploring Future Tech With Scouting
Scouting isn’t just tying knots and camping. It’s also introducing young boys to the technologies that are shaping the future. Boy Scouts is rolling out a new curriculum with emphasis on STEM: science, technology, engineering, and math. The Robotics merit badge, the most recent of the 31 STEM-related merit badges, is helping Scouts develop critical skills that are relevant in today’s competitive world.
Bringing Family Into The Scouting Picture
It’s no secret that family is a major part of all young people’s lives. Scouting embraces the role of the family and supports activities and experiences that get everyone involved. Cub Scouting, in particular, takes great care in teaching Scouts a wholesome system of values and beliefs while building and strengthening relationships among family members.
