Destiny Rescue is a non-profit organization working to rescue girls from the sex industry in several Asian countries. They also provide safe houses and prevention programs. The rescued women hand make various type of jewelry and sell it on the website in order to live independently. Sari Bari helps to bring women out of the sex trade industry in the red light districts of India. Once these women come to the Sari Bari houses they are provided fair-wage employment and a hope of a better future. The women of Sari Bari create beautiful blankets, pillows, bags and other items out of recycled sari fabric.     My fave is Jack & Jyl Late Stage Cancer Foundation-they provide people who are dying of cancer an ultimate memory-other than cancer with their families to make one ultimate memory!

    My favorite organization is lungevity.org. They work to find cures for lung cancer. I think this is an amazing organization. Anything that works to find cures and new treatments for cancer is amazing in my book.

    I visited beadforlife.org and I learned that the farmers pick shea nuts and use those for shea butter soap and peppermint lip balm to sell also.

    My favorite cause is getting Bibles into the hands of people who can’t get them. I also have a huge burden for our local Pregnancy center that helps young girls and women during and after their pregnancy with housing and training for jobs and motherhood. cwitherstine at zoominternet dot net

    I didn’t realize when you said that Destiny Rescue helped girls gain freedom from the sex trade industry, you meant GIRLS not women. They are about helping children. As a mom, I am so horrified that this happens. Thank you for bringing this charity to light.

    The name Sari Bari is derived from the words sari for the traditional clothing worn by women in India and bari which means home in Benagli

    4-H is our favorite “cause” and the government keeps cutting the funding. It’s an amazing program which is NOT just for farmers. 4-H helps build strong and confident leaders for tomorrow regardless of where you live and how much money you make.

    I learned that by buying lip balm at Beads for Life it “benefits 760 families in Northern Uganda, as they rebuild their lives from the devastating losses due to civil war”.

    The cause I support and is dearest to my heart is St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital. I make monthly donations. I have had the opportunity to see a child that benifted from their treatment and have seen many children with cancer. I support others but this is closest to my heart.
