Today is my wedding anniversary. My husband and I are happily celebrating our 8th year of holy matrimony. It seems like yesterday that we were planning our beautiful St. Augustine wedding. It was just the wedding that I dreamed about as a little girl and I am so very blessed to have such a wonderful husband.
This morning, I came home from the YMCA to find a dozen beautiful roses sitting on my counter and next to it a vase that was given to us as a shower gift. It is a beautiful crystal vase and it holds a very dear sentiment to us. My husbands’ mom’s dear friend, Jackie, gave it to us with a note saying that whenever we need to remember our love, say we are sorry or just brighten each other’s day, we should purchase flowers and fill the vase.
And she was right. There is nothing that makes my heart skip for joy than a beautiful bouquet filling that crystal vase. Not to long after we were married, Jackie went home to be with the Lord. I always have wondered how many couples have a “Jackie” vase to fill with flowers for the good times and the bad. I have no doubt there are many of us and I am sure each of us are thankful for the gift.

It is my humble prayer that our marriage continues to grow deeper and more committed every day. I pray that we continue to raise our children to know and serve the Lord and that our actions are pleasing to our Maker. Thank you Lord for providing me with a wonderful hard-working husband. Please continue to create in me a new heart to be a wonderful wife and mother. Amen.
