Not to long ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to review the Knowledge Adventure virtual online world of JumpStart. Ever since we recieved the membership to JumpStart and Eph was given the opportunity to create his character (Thomas Shinyfoot) and hatch and raise a series of creatures in his virtual world, he has been completly addicted. He regularly wakes up and the first thing I hear as he decends the stairs is, “Mom, can I play JumpStart?”
Within the JumpStart world is a portal that takes you to the Math Blaster website is a virtual world full of what seems to be an infinite amount of games, activities, and adventures geared at children ages 3 through 5th grade.
Even before this review, Eph’s favorite “land” was MathBlaster. In the beginning he had a lot of difficulty with most of the games. We went through several stages. Stage 1, he would call out the numbers and I would give the answer. Stage 2, he would use his fingers to determine the answers and now Stage 3, he is completely independent and can do most of the games on his own.
Below is a great video of him playing one of the Math Blaster Iphone/Ipad apps. Many of the games are similar and he loves to be able to take them on the go.

Overall, Eph loves Math Blaster and Jump Start and I am very impressed with the quality of the educational games that are offered. There seems to be a never ending amount of activities and Knowledge Adventure does a great job of keeping the game fresh and new, like for October they have a Halloween theme in the main area of the game. I would completely recommend Math Blaster & JumpStart for anyone looking for quality online educational games.
