Some people call it Halloween but we like to refer to it as “costume and candy day.” Whatever you call it, it is fun for kids to get to use their imaginations, dress up and pretend to be whatever their little hearts desire. Not that my kids need a specific event to play make-believe, we have closets full of superhero costumes, occupational costumes, princess dresses and other accessories. I have taken many masked crusaders to the grocery store on just your typical day.
Knowing how badly my kids love to dress up (all the time), I couldn’t resist writing this review for Costume Supercenter. We were provided a store credit to pick out any costume. I had originally planned to let my son choose a costume but after hours and hours of looking, he just couldn’t decide. So we moved on to plan B and picked an outfit for little Lu bug.
Since Lu is addicted to Elmo, I thought she would look adorable in one of the Elmo costumes but Eph told me that Elmo is a boy and Lu is a girl so that wouldn’t work. Then as we were looking through the Elmo costumes we came across the brand new “Frilly Sesame Street Elmo Dress” – which Lu now calls her “Princess Elmo.”
The dress is absolutely the cutest thing. It has a slightly furry monster top, a cinched orange waistband and two layers of frilly tulle. It also comes with a cute little Elmo headband that Lu would have no part in wearing but we got creative (see picture below.) The dress is great quality and we have already gotten a lot of wear out of it. The only thing that I would suggest is buy a size larger when you order. Lu is a size 3T and this is a size 3T/4T and fits perfectly.
