“Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art… It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival.” ~ C.S. Lewis
Today I give thanks for one that has become like a sister to me. She is truly as much a part of our family as any blood relative and I am very grateful that God chose her to teach me about Him, about adult friendships and to be an Aunt to my children – my friend Heather.
Eight years ago, I hired Heather to work for me. Little did I know that day that she would become an “everyday” friend. She has taught me so much about love, compassion, friendship, Jesus, serving and sacrifice. She loves my children as if they are her own and I love her and her wacky, silly ways. She is always there when I need her. When I need it she convicts with a gentle spirit. She holds me accountable for my walk and my words. She is an amazing woman and friend.
I love that she teaches my kids to sing silly songs and goes on trips with us.
Or takes them on the merry-go-round because she knows it makes me sick.
That she invites us into her family and takes time to do crafts and activities.
I love that my kids love her and want her to be a part of their everyday too.
I am lucky to have found a friend as loving, caring and sweet as Heather! Thank you for being my friend and our Aunt everyday! You are a HUGE blessing to our lives and family.
Happy Birthday Aunt Heather… May the next year be filled with amazing blessings, surprises and happiness.
