If I lived in Chicago I am pretty certain that I would be a a regular at the Twist Cafe. Not only do I love pretzels, I love a company that deliberately works at doing good for the community, health and the world. Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels is that kind of company. Plus they make a delicious product.
For this review I was provided coupons to choose a variety of the Kim & Scott’s products from my local grocer. The great thing about this, is that I was already pretty familiar with their delicious pretzels. I often buy them to keep at work for an extra on hand snack.
The pretzels come in 4 different styles (classic, stuffed, gluten-free and stuffed bagels) and a 15 different varieties including a gluten-free one. All of their products are made from natural ingredients, contain no preservatives, no trans fats and no hydrogenated oils. Plus they are made in a nut-free facility making their delicious goodies safe for allergy ridden little ones. They also have a variety of pretzels that are egg-free, dairy-free and gluten-free. As a mama with a kid with allergies, I think that ROCKS!
I had never made these types of pretzels for Lu before but decided that the grilled cheese pretzel would be absolutely delicious for lunch.
Following the directions on the package we cooked the pretzels from frozen in the oven. Personally, I feel that thawing the pretzels does make them better but they are very delicious cooked from frozen in the oven or in the microwave.
Once the pretzels were cooked, I made up a plate for both her and I. Now, my littlest one is not a big eater. She is more like a grazer and she is also very very very picky. Having a very limited diet due to allergies she hasn’t developed a refined pallet. I had no sooner, sat her plate down, turned on some Elmo and started some blogging work that Lu was over at my plate asking for a bite. I started to tell her to go eat her own, when a quick glance told me that she had already finished it. All of it.
I was amazed. She LOVED it and devoured it in minutes. Which is so unlike her. So, being the good mama that I am, I gave her a few more bites of mine and she was happy.
I too think the Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels are delicious. They make a great snack or meal and I know that they are safe for my little ones. You can buy them at your local retailer or online. Or if you are lucky enough, you can stop by their the Twist Cafe in Chicago and eat them in person.
There are lots of ways to connect with Kim & Scott’s. Find them on Facebook, follow them on Twitter and check them out on YouTube.
