Run Happy: Jingle Bell Run for Arthritis

December 6, 2011 By Melanie

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells,
Jingle all the way!
Oh what fun it is to run
on a bright and sunny day!

There is no doubt that the Jingle Bell for Arthritis is one of the most fun, most cheerful races that I have ever participated in. Every where you looked (or listened) you could see Santa, his reindeer, tons of merry elfs and the Easter Bunny stopped by for a visit too. People were decked out in head to toe in their holiday themed outfits.

I ran with my friend Christine. This was her first 5k and she rocked it, especially considering that she had never actually ran outside. She does more weight-lift training than cardio but she stayed strong through the whole race and we had a ton of fun running and chatting. I can’t wait till our next race!

Time: 37:17 – Pace 12:02

The Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis is a national race that takes place in cities all over the US. The purpose of the race is to raise money and awareness for the Arthritis Foundation. There are still several cities that haven’t yet hosted their race for this year, so check their website to see if you can join.

So cool. I love runs that have themes but I’ve never done a holiday themed run.

Themed races and races for charities are my favorite – this combines both. Awesome!
