Before I start this review, I need to make an announcement. Ready? It will knock your socks off. Are you sure you can handle it? You might need to take a seat…
Ok, here it is. The very painful and honest truth. I have never scrap-booked anything in my life and to be even more honest, my kids don’t have baby books. [pausing now to wait for the shock to set in] It’s not that I don’t want to be able to preserve their memories. I really really do, it’s just that all that buying, cutting, sticking and gluing seems awfully exhausting.
So, when MyMemories contacted me and asked me to do a review of their digital scrapbooking software, I kindly informed them that I was thankful for the opportunity but I had no experience with scrapbooking and maybe they should chose someone else. After assurance that their program is “very easy” to use, I jumped off the bridge, downloaded the software and here I am writing the review.
I decided to go very easy for my first MyMemories project by trying to make a 2012 Happy New Years Facebook Timeline banner. I down loaded the scrapbook software (easy), started a custom project (also easy) and began working on my banner (kind of easy).
Seeing that I had absolutely ZERO experience with digital scrapbooking, I would say that it is significantly easier than I anticipated. Once I figured out what an embellishment was, the rest was pretty simple. I had a hard time determining size of the project so the banner is a little off but you will get the general idea. Not to bad, do you think?
For project #2, I decided to up the ante, add pictures and create our annual Christmas “Thank You” cards. For this project, I was a lot more comfortable re-sizing and moving items. I also downloaded some of the free kits that they offer on their website. The card project went much faster and I was very pleased. I even uploaded it to a local store site and picked them up the next day.
Last but not least, my big hurrah! Now, this might completely rock your world (ok, probably not) but I have decided to join the MyMemories blog on their Project 52 challenge. Each week they will be offering one word and as series of instructions to help you create a page per week. From the minute I saw it, I loved this idea. I find the idea of one page per week significantly less overwhelming than an entire book. I downloaded a new kit and created this page for Lu’s 1st day of pre-school.
Can you see how my technique has improved in just two weeks? The MyMemories software is as easy to use as they suggested. Plus they have a whole variety of kits to make each project perfect.
MyMemories will be giving one of you their MyMemories Suite v3 (a $39.97 value) so that you too can become a scrapper extraordinaire. And if you just can’t wait to see if you win, you can use this special code STMMMS64242 when you check out to save $10.00 on the software AND get a $10.00 code to use on all their wonderful kits.
Disclaimer: I received the MyMemories Suite in exchange for this review and can earn compensation for the use of my referral codes. Regardless, I only post my honest opinions. This blog is in no way affiliated with Twitter, Facebook or any other social network.
