A couple of weeks ago, I was chatting with another mom about our upcoming trip to Orlando and our visit to Disney. Having grown up in Florida, I am a Disney fanatic. Ok, well maybe not fanatic but a lover of the mouse for sure. I can actually remember Disney World when there was nothing but the Magic Kingdom. I remember my first ride ride with my grandmother on It’s a Small World, puking on the Tea Cups and my first ride with a boy on Space Mountain. I truly love all things Disney and have instilled that love in my children. Just when I thought I was an “expert” on Disney, I was surprised to find out about the Disney Pin Trading program.
I have some vague memories of cast members having lanyards with pins when we went in 2008 but I guess I completely overlooked the trading part. I am not sure how because I can’t imagine anything more fun than trading pins with cast members.
We are going to Orlando in July and I want to make sure that the kids are prepared to trade pins right away. I read the official Disney page on the pin trading rules and regulations (yes there are rules) but I feel like there are probably some great tips and ideas that my readers can offer me.
Have you traded pins? How did you get your kids started? What tips would offer a newbie Mom on pin trading? If you could do it over again, what would you do differently? Suggestions? Ideas?
I couldn’t stand it today and bought this cute set off Ebay for Lu. I am guessing that she is probably not going to want to trade them but that is alright. Maybe I will just keep them for myself.
Thanks for the advice Moms… I can’t wait to hear from all of you.

We are going to WDW in November and while we’ve been before, we’ve never pin traded, but I’ve collected some over the past few years and plan to do it myself if my kiddos don’t want to. I don’t have any suggestions, but will be looking back at this to see some!
