Well it’s official. My sweet little boy has completed 1st grade and started summer vacation. I can’t believe another year has gone by. I know my grandmother always said the years go by fast but I never believed her.
In my opinion we had a fantastic year. Eph had excellent behavior in school and learned so much. His final DRA for reading was a 20, which is great. At mid year we were still at a 10 and I was really concerned. I am very thankful to be in a great public school with excellent teachers and staff.
As a tradition, we take a picture on the first day and last day of school.

I think he looks like he grew a foot. He definitely looks more “kid” like than he did 9 months ago.
I asked Eph to tell me about first grade. He said, “My favorite thing about 1st grade was gym, music, library, art and days with 2 recesses. I liked playing with Hayden, Lex, Christopher, Landin and Mason because they were my best friends. Ms. Cradlebaugh was the nicest teacher ever and she was so smart. My favorite book was anything by Junie B. Jones and reading class. I loved every book but the science book bin.”
