I have finally started to see the glowing side of pregnancy. Fatigue and sickness have moved out, some of the pain and discomfort is still lingering but my spirits are up.
We had our much anticipated 19 week, level 2 ultrasound a couple of weeks ago. This was the second level 2 I have gotten and wow they are amazingly different. You can see every little detail so clearly. It truly is breathtaking. I am definitely spoiled now. Good thing that this is my last because those level 2’s could become a habit.
We have known the baby’s gender for a couple of weeks now but I was waiting till I could get a good reveal picture to announce! The weather finally broke yesterday (it wasn’t snowing and the temperature was in the 40’s) so I bribed the kids into picture taking mode with the promise of making a giant Smore cookie.
I had the “perfect idea” in my head but the wall I needed to use outside was just shaded just a little too much. So, even though I don’t love the picture as much as I loved our announcement photos, at least I made the idea look somewhat like the one in my head.
Without further adieu.
Announcing our newest arrival!
It’s a…
I also tried out some other ideas:
And this one:
I always make a subtle announcement. Just a simple change to my Facebook cover and profile picture. It’s fun to read everyone’s responses and watch people catch on.
Now we have to start destashing our girl clothes. I can’t say I am not a little disappointed. All that sparkle just waiting in our garage but I am sure I will have no problem decking out my newest little man.
How did you announce your arrivals? Reveal party? Balloons? If you have a link,, please share!

YAY!! I am excited! I am looking forward to buying some blue as I am swimming in a sea of pink over here! With Emaline we had the tech write the gender down, then let me mom see it. She had a gift for the baby for us, depending on the gender. So she gave it to us and David and I went out and opened it and saw a pink hat, sleeper etc. So fun! Then I told people by wearing a pink shirt to work. With Eden we waited to find out her gender until birth(as you know)and after that we let her do the telling! 😉

I remember when you were pregnant with Lu and you said you didn’t know what to do with a girl. Remember that? 🙂

Congratulations! How exciting!!!
When we were expecting our daughter (3rd and last child) we didn’t announce right away to my MIL. When she came to Texas to visit other family, we went over with the boys and had our oldest (then 6) hand a bag to his Grammy. In the bag was a little pink-striped sleeper. Grammy, naturally confused, looked up and said, “What is this?” DS1 piped up, “It’s for my baby sister!” Grammy fell out…it was GREAT! :O)

Yay!!! So excited for you! I assure you, you will absolutely love having more than one boy! (Take it from a Mom of 5 boys!) We did announce the pregnancy with each of our children in a special way, however I never thought of announcing the sex. We didn’t find out with our last until he was born–that was fun, but HARD!
I’m really happy for you and your family and can’t wait to hear all about the rest of your pregnancy and baby! 🙂
