Confession: I am not crafty. I don’t bake bread from scratch. I have never even made cookies from the back of the Toll House bag. I am basically unfit and am lucky that my kids make it to school with their hair and teeth brushed in the morning.
However, I just couldn’t bring myself to buy another box of over exposed characters for this years Valentines parties, so I went to the only place with the ability to make you feel wonderful and horrible at the same time – Pinterest.
Once there I typed the simple words “valentine” and the pictures began to fill the screen. Cute little bugs made from pipe-cleaners, lollipops protruding from little pictured hands, and Swedish fish swimming in super cute paper bowls. However, the one that I liked most was this cute little magnifying glass with its “eyes on me.”
Took me awhile to find it’s original creator but once I did, I was super pleased to find that Dandee was giving the template away for FREE! Then I was sucked into her site but that’s another story.
The kids and I went out and bought string and paper. I ordered the little magnifying glasses off Amazon with my Prime account {free shipping plus used Ebates for cash back}. Picked up a hole punch from Michaels and we were ready to go!
So tonight I officially became Mom of the Year. Ok, maybe that is taking it a little to far. How about Mom of the Week. In a little less than an hour, I printed, cut and strung the cutest little Valentines for their class parties. The kids were super thrilled and both are very excited about giving these homemade cards to their friends.

Love it – especially the description of Pinterest. Oh, so true! I sort of just let my kids go at it with crayons and stickers for our valentines.
