Praise & Giveaway: VeggieTales – The Little House that Stood

March 11, 2013 By Melanie

“Bobo the Nado” is a favorite in our house. I am not sure there is a more famous tomato around. When we received our review copy of The Little House that Stood, the kids were over excited to put it in an watch it. I think they have watched 4 or 5 times in the past few days.

As always, VeggieTales has used a classic story to represent sound Biblical principals. Based off the Bible verses. The Little House that Stood, is about building our lives on solid ground, (Matt 7:24-27 & Luke 6:48). In the story we find three little pigs, Bob the Tomato, Larry and Mr. Lunt all trying to build a house. Unfortunately, only Bob has a serious plan that is based on the Master’s plan. Larry and Mr. Lunt are just trying to get get the job done and of course it just doesn’t work out the way it should. In the end, everyone learns that it is better to build our lives on solid ground.

There is a bonus story on the DVD called The Good Egg of Gooseville which was super cute. It might just be that Lu is allergic to eggs but she really loved watching Bob play Humpty Dumpty. She kept wanting to watch it over and over again. Of course there is also a great moral about how we need to be less selfish and work more to be helpful and serving to our neighbors.

Eph’s Praise: I liked the story about Humpty Dumpty because he fell off the wall into the little girls oatmeal. I liked the way the little pigs talk. I learned that Jesus wants us to take our time to build our houses and our toys and our pictures. If we don’t take our time and it rains, it will all fall apart.

About The Little House That Stood:

When the Three Little Pigs roll into Cabbageville looking to build some new houses, they meet one builder with a plan and two without a clue! Larry builds with hay, Mr. Lunt with bricks, but only Bob builds his houses on a firm foundation – following the wise plans from the Master Builder’s Handbook! Will the Little Piggies make the right choices when it comes to building their houses – and their lives – on solid ground? Find out in this parable that shows kids when they follow God’s blueprints, then can stand strong when the storms come!

VeggieTales, The Little House that Stood is now available! Parents, don’t forget to read the Discussion Guide. Great pointers to help you get the most out of the video. Check them out on Facebook and Twitter. Plus you can watch a trailer here!
