This past December our church really stepped out on a limb and asked its members to all join together and take Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University class. My husband and I were really excited to sign up and we are now in our 3rd week of class. One of the main points of FPU is to use a cash only envelope system to help you become more emotionally attached to your spending.
About a week after signing up, one of my favorite Christian/craft bloggers posted about her homemade cash envelope system. I have to admit, I had craft crush and this is when I realized that a quick Google search might just solve my problem. It did!
I found a whole variety of wonderfully crafted cash envelope systems but there was one company in particular that I just kept coming back to, again and again. Which one do you ask? Saving Money in Style!
After falling in love, I reached out to Cathy to see if she would be interested in letting me do a review. I was thrilled when she said yes. The hardest part was choosing which fabrics I wanted. I was torn between this grey and yellow flower pattern and these adorable orange birds. Truth be told I was deeply in love with this pattern from the beginning but nothing could even compare to my actual excitement when they arrived.
These handmade envelopes are just amazing. The perfect mix of fabric choices, combined with a sturdy canvas, with hidden surged seams. Each envelope has a different coordinating fabric with a tag to write your “category” in. Then outside envelope has a velcro closure. You also have the option to choose a button/tie closure. Plus I chose the zippered pouch to keep my coins in.

Aren’t they just adorable? I almost can’t wait until this Friday to start using them. But I have been carrying them around in my bag all week because they are super cute! At the same time, I am betting that when I whip out one of my envelopes they are sure to be a conversation starter.
Don’t be disappointed that this is not a giveaway post. We are going to be having one soon but I couldn’t wait until then to show you this adorable cash envelope system from Saving Money in Style. Check out her Etsy store. Be one of their *new* friends on Facebook and Twitter.
Then keep checking back in for more money saving tips and a great giveaway!

These are adorable! I want to do the course so bad. Our church has it from 6:30 to 8:30pm and Baby C goes to bed at 6:30. So maybe when she gets a little bit older we can do this.
