My little man got in trouble in school today. His signature slip said he was “running & smiling,” which apparently is not acceptable. I am glad he wasn’t running and frowning because who knows what kind of trouble he would be in. I am sure the teacher had good reason to make him “pull a card” but it pretty much sums up his entire existence. Be on the look out tomorrow for skipping and singing because he is just that kind of kid.
Don’t mind his handwriting. He is a lefty with dyslexia and ADHD. We are just lucky most of the letters are there.
Has your kid gotten in trouble recently for something that is more funny than serious?

I can’t believe this is for real! I would have expected at least a little more of an explanation. Running and smiling! Well, if that’s the worst he ever does…you are GOLDEN!

Ha ha! That’s funny. Baby C isn’t in school yet, but she is such a follower and talker. I can definitely see some trouble coming her way.

No, not r e c e n t l y. My 16-yr old got suspended in the 2nd (at age 8) grade for three days for quoting a line from “Lion King 1-1/2” – “I’ve got a cannon in my pocket and I know how to use it”.

Serioulsy? 3 days? That seems extreme. Poor kid.

Oh dear. Thank you for sharing. We just recently made the decision to homeschool our boys and since making the decision, I feel like there have been reassuring nudges left and right. School is so much different than it was when we were younger. I’ll be praying for your sweet, happy, skipping, hopping and dancing boy! That is exactly the way he should be!

I’m guessing that there is more to this story?! Haha. I can’t think of an instance involving my kids right now. But, my husband once got pulled over by a police officer for revving his engine in his ’67 Camaro. The officer called it “excessive display of horsepower”. 😉 He also once got a ticket for honking his horn at a police officer that cut us off (the ticket was dismissed). My son does love, love, love to talk. We’ll see if that is a source of trouble when he starts school!

I love your story. Yes, I assume there was more to it but this is what the teacher had him write down so it is all I have to go on. Obviously running in school is not allowed. It was the smiling part that was so funny.

P.S. I think your son’s hand writing is good!

Ahh, thanks. He is working on it for sure.
