Friday night is often movie night in our home. It is a great way to wind down after our busy week. The kids love watching their favorite movies all snuggled up on the couch. With winter quickly approaching, movie nights will definitely be back to a regular occurrence.
Even though I am typically one of those people who only likes to watch a movie once, my kids (especially Lu) can watch the same movie over and over again. If she really loves a movie, I will normally purchase it so that she can enjoy it anytime she wants. Trust me this kid will watch a movie, over and over and over. That is why I am really picky about what movies I add to our collection.
One of her favorite movies is the Smurfs. I am pretty sure it’s one of her favorites because it was actually the very first movie she ever saw in the theater. We were visiting my Mom in Florida and they took the kids to the movies. Lu was mesmerized the entire time and my mom still loves to tell about the part where the Smurfs are in the toy store and there is a big wall of dolls and Lu yelled really loudly “BABY, BABY, BABY!”
Lu was equally enthralled with the Smurfs movie when we watched it the other night. I mean, how can you not be. The Smurfs are smurftastick and Neil Patrick Harris is absolutely smurfdorable in this film. It also brings me back to my childhood because I spent hours upon hours watching the Smurfs, collecting their little dolls and playing Smurf village.
Now the Smurfs are back in their 2nd full length feature film. Smurfs 2 has been out in theaters since July 31st and can still be found in some local theaters. If you didn’t have a chance to catch it on the big screen, don’t worry, Smurfs 2 will be out just in time for Christmas shopping!
About Smurfs 2:
The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by Gargamel since she knows a secret spell that can turn the evil sorcerer’s newest creation – creatures called the Naughties – into real Smurfs.

I haven’t watched either of the movies but my family said they were both cute movies.
