Sometimes when I write reviews, I wish I was one of those famous “jingle” or “slogan” writers. I love catchy phrases that make you sing in your head over and over again or funny ones that make you chuckle when you hear them.
As I have been reviewing the Milk Diapers breast milk pads, I have had a handful of slogans that keep coming to mind…
Milk Diapers…Because Leaking in Church is embarrassing
Milk Diapers…Because First Impressions Shouldn’t Include Leaks
Milk Diapers…Because High Altitudes Causes Leaking
Let me just get real with you for a second.
I leak.
I leak a lot.
I leak unexpectedly.
I leak with pads.
I leak without pads.
I just leak.
It’s like a really really bad Dr. Seuss story.
I leak in a tree, on a bus, on flea. I leak in a house, on a mouse, with my spouse. I have leaked in a church. I have leaked on a plane. I have leaked in the doctors and while driving down Main. I leak in my bed. I leak while eating bread. No matter where I go, I leak.
Are you laughing yet? No?, then maybe you can empathize?
To make matters worse, I am not one of those women who eventually stops leaking. Nope. I leak for the entire year+ that I breastfeed. I had such high hopes it was a fluke situation with my daughter but here we are 4.5 months in with little man and I still have to be super vigilant about wearing nursing pads.
Honestly, I have gone through 3 full boxes of disposable pads because up until this review I had yet to find a reusable pad that could contain my “problem.”
[Insert Hallelujah chorus here]
Milk Diapers sent me a selection of 8 pads for this review. This is not the standard pack because I had let Felicia know about what heavy leaker I can be and she created a set just for me that included 2 regular moisture guard, 2 of the XL moisture guard, 4 of the 5 layer uncovered pads.
Guess What??
They work!!!
I have only leaked through the 5 layer uncovered pads ONCE in the past few weeks that I have been using them and that was on an airplane. Little man’s eating schedule was whacked and I just barely leaked through the pad. It definitely wasn’t the tragedy that it could have been and a significant improvement over the other reusable nursing pads I have tried.
Let me tell you about these miracle pads. The regular size pads are soft and sized a tad bigger than the disposable pads that I normally buy. Their contoured shape fits nicely in my nursing bras and I like how I can just fold them down instead of having to remove them. Especially in public. They don’t look bulky or have any seams showing which is good because I don’t like wearing loose shirts all the time. Also, I have had no issues with odor, itchiness or slipping. Since I am rather small chested, the XL were much to bulky in my regular bras but they have been great for night time use.
Let’s just say that I am super pleased with these reusable nursing pads and instead of buying another box of disposable ones, I am going to spend $11.25 and get myself an additional 6 pack of the Moisture Guard Milk Diapers Nursing Pads. Because they are super absorbent, easy to clean and better for my boobs than any disposable brand out there.

I would like to win because I’m expecting in March. I didn’t really leak much with my first, but we were both sick. So I’m not sure if I could really compare or predict how this one will go.

I’d like to win because our new little guy will be here in April and I leak like a faucet. I tried the samples of the disposable nursing pads last time and the material made my skin crawl. Cloth pads are more absorbent, comfortable and cost effective.

I’m not a breastfeeder, but I absolutely did appreciate your Dr. Seuss poetry. Yay for finding something that works!
