Last October, in an attempt to have a little fun, I let my daughter get 2 VERY pink and VERY permanent stripes put in her hair. She loved it and personally, I thought it looked adorable. I was amazed at how long the color lasted but now it has faded and she has been begging for more.
I was looking online at some of the chalk options and we bought a kid friendly brand. She liked it but it was very difficult to get the colors bright enough. Plus there were only 4 choices. When we received the Ellore Femme 24 piece hair chalk, her eyes lite up like Christmas morning. There are 24 colors in this pack and you can literally paint your head like a rainbow.
Since we had a snow day yesterday, the kids and I went a little crazy with the hair chalk. Lu’s hair is fairly blond but very long. I would spray each strand with some water/conditioner and then rub the chalk through her hair. In order to make sure the colors are vibrant, you really have to go over it a few times. The darker colors really didn’t show in her hair and she was disappointed. I need to figure out what I can do to make them brighter.
My son on the other hand looked like he had just walked right off the set of Avatar. We did a blue, green, yellow rainbow combo and his hair was super bright. It was really fun. His hair also held the color longer than my daughters. I experimented today on his hair by using a conditioning treatment and then hairspray and a blow dryer to see if the color last longer. If it does, then I ill try it on my daughter after her shower.
Overall this is a fun product. It held up much better than the “as seen on TV” brand we bought at Christmas. You can Save $30 Off Ellore Femme 24 piece Hair Chalk set with this exclusive promo code BL15.

I can totally relate with your daughter on the pink stripes! As a girl, my hair was probably every color you can imagine. Shocker, I didn’t turn into a hoodlum or anything but I did learn all about individuality and became an incredibly confident adult! I’m happy your kids are finding such a great way to express themselves.

These sound fun! I was never able to do anything like this as a kid (even now I have never changed the color of my hair). I like that it’s temporary – something to have some fun with and wash out later!

So fun! I used to really experiment with hair color when I was younger. This would be great for Halloween and dress up, too!

I’ve never heard of anything like this! I have dark hair and stuff like this usually does’t work, but I’m too scared to try anything permanent. I just might give this a shot though.

This looks like so much fun, I have to wait till baby girl actually has hair though.
