I spray my cloth diapers out and then soak them in Funk Rock from Rockin Green. It gets them super clean every time!
I’m new to cloth diapering so I don’t have any tricks yet!
use liners to help with poop clean up
I’m fairly new to cloth diapering, so I don’t really think I have any tricks. I’m slowly figuring out what works and what doesn’t for us.
I keep diapers on each floor of the house as well as a wetbag in each bathroom. Makes diaper changes faster and easier!
I don’t have any tricks yet, I’m just getting started.
I rinse my diapers as soon as they get dirty so they don’t stink so they don’t stink in the pail.
My best trick is running a cloth wipe under the warm tap just before a diaper change so it will feel nice and warm on baby’s bottom.
Have a large stash and wash every 3 days.
My best cloth diapering tip is to get a good wet bag – they are great!
WHile out hiking little one pooped- no spare diaper π TRICK… bury the poop in the forest, fold the prefold in the opposite trifold- so she has non-poop diaper against skin until you can get back to car to a new clean diaper!!!
Love this!
My best trick is to use natural fibers, microfiber is just not absorbant enough and easy enough to clean for us.
I use repurposed receiving blankets folded in covers at home. No pins, no boingos, and no snappis. Just fold so most absorbency is where it is needed most.
Bring a wetbag and take your diapers with you when you go out!
Buy ALL the diapers! π Fitteds and wool for overnight are must haves!!
love cloth
My best tip is to keep it simple! Don’t overly complicate your washing routine!
wash often! that way you avoid the stinkies which are hard to get out once theyre in!
In my 3 days of cloth diapering I’m not sure I’ve got a best trick yet. Lol. I’m trying to keep it simple and wash often.
My best trick is to use Tide, I never have any luck with other cloth diaper detergents, they just don’t cut it…
My best trick is to add a quick additional rinse at the end of your wash load, it has solved all of our laundry issues.
Hang diapers in the sun. It works wonders for stains!
Buy ALL the diapers! π
But really, try not to get overwhelmed by all the choices/types out there. Try a few different styles to see what works for you!
dry them in the sun to help get rid of stains!
— USE fleece as liners
My tip would be to only buy what you can and will use. Wash often too
I use whitening detergent to leave the clothe diapers nice and white and fresh.
My best trick is to read a lot about cloth diapering. I’m just getting started so I still have lots to learn!
I haven’t started CDing yet, but can’t wait to start when my little one arrives. Through my research I’ve learned that All-in-2 are the best travel diaper.
our best trick has been to prep after they come out of the wash, that way they’re ready for whoever needs to use them and we aren’t wrangling a toddler while trying to get things ready
Using flour sack towels pad folded instead of microfiber inserts. They get so much cleaner in the wash!
My best tip is why you are first starting out, buy a lot of different kinds of diapers!! You might end up surprised by what ends up being your favorite
Wool at night, practice part time EC, that way baby knows what a potty is & how to use it, even if they don’t want to. They’ll get it much faster once it’s time to give the diapers the boot. I had a horrible time potty training my first two. My next two were super easy. We used part time EC with those two and we threw potty parties for them. I’m not sure how it’s going with my 21 month old. I have been having a really rough time health-wise: no energy, weak, sick a lot, feeling really down. I started off teaching her EC but gave up after a while. I wished I’d kept it up. She completely forgot. However, I’m reintroducing the potty because she kept asking to be changed and kept saying “potty” lately. I don’t know if that’s because we put her in disposables temporarily while on vacation and they’re uncomfortable or what, but she’ loves to run around with no diaper on. I’m trying to not stress about the accidents on the carpet especially since we’re renting.ugh. Anyway, she went #2 in her little potty this morning. Yay! I got of track there, didn’t I?lol.
Oops, when i said “even if they don’t want to”, I meant, even if they aren’t interested later on as toddlers. My babies were interested in pottying when they were younger. That’s why it’s best to introduce it before they’re mobile because once they’re up and moving, they don’t want to sit on the potty anymore.
Another thing I’m learning is if I rotate natural detergents, they work better and wash more often, use natural fibers. That way I don’t have to deal with microfiber stink or use toxic chemicals on my baby’s laundry.
I LOVE, love, LOVE, sun-drying my diapers. after 6 months I am still in giddy-amazement every time I put stained diapers out on the rack and pull beautiful brand-new looking diapers off the rack!
Be fast! π
Don’t buy all of one kind before your baby is born! Get a few, see what you like, then buy.
My best tip is to have some aplix and some snaps. You hear a lot of people bash one side or the other but theyre good for different things.
Disposable Liners! (Grovia) Best ever for after baby starts solids
My best trick is to wash in cold first to get out stains, washing in hot can set in stains!
I don’t cloth diaper yet, but I am hoping to with our next child!
Homemade laundry detergent π
Make sure it fits lol I dunno
Only been cloth diapering our new little one two months, so dont really have any great tips yet. Will say if you are on the fence give cloth a try, I am so happy we did.
Wash often and use enough detergent!!
Keep it simple, and don’t mess with what works
Have plenty on hand and try different variety of cloth diapers.
My best trick? Use the diapers! Don’t be afraid! The best way to figure out what’s best for you is trial and error.
My best cloth diapering trick is honesty just washing ASAP. The less it sits the longer your diapers will last!
Invest in at least a few newborn diapers! They are so worth it!

Definitely to not dry my covers in the dryer. I line dry. Also, have a couple easy diapers (Velcro AIO’s) for grandparents and babysitters.
It’s all trial and error! My best “trick” is to not stress about something that doesn’t work the first time (wash routine, stain remover, fit/rise, etc.).
Make sure your fitted/prefold is all tucked in your cover to avoid wicking!
Have plenty of wetbags!
Vinegar and baking soda added to the wash helps remove stink and stains!
My best tip is to wash frequently. Every other day if possible.
Hemp and bamboo are a way to get a trim and absorbent diaper. Also, cloth wipes, even if you don’t use them for their intended purpose, they make a great barrier for accidentally getting peed on by little boys!
This will be my first time actually cloth diapering so I don’t have any tips or tricks but I am eager to learn!
I’m “expecting” to foster-adopt this fall, so I haven’t started CD’ing yet, just trying to build my stash first! I’m definitely reading up on all the tips and tricks everyone shares here π
Iβm new to cloth diapering so I donβt have any tricks yet.
I’m not sure that I have any “tricks” yet but I’m going to try sunning to remove stains!
HAving the cloth wipes already wet and ready
I recently discovered Bac-Out and love it! I have a two year old and the ammonia smell had been horrible even after stripping. I now add a little bac-out to every pre -wash and it works wonders!
Fleece lines in our overnight dipes for that stay-dry feeling!
Sunning takes out most stains, and quickly too!!
use rocking green detergent
Keeping it varied
I use vinegar in a downy ball. It really seems to help with the hard water we have.
I’m so OCD about my covers, none ever go in my dryer ( not even my AIO’s). I like keeping them pristine π
Washing twice a week! I wash everything twice a week 3 loads.
I’m due with my first very soon so I don’t have any tricks up my sleeve yet but as of now, I’ve got my changing table right next to my open closet in the nursery so I can both change my baby’s cloth diapers and clothes without taking a step! I also have one of those big farmhouse sinks in my laundry room so I can pre-soak before washing! I’m really excited to start cloth diapering! π
My best tip is to try many different kinds, because it’s unlikely the first kind you try will be your favorite forever for all situations!

I’m brand new to CD, so I don’t have any tips! Nice to read everyone else’s though!
I have to wait a little while to try them out π But I think a trick I’ve read that I liked was rinsing them right away when you can and letting them air dry when possible!
Brand new to cloth diapering. I have no tips but looking to learn.
Use fleece as a liner
don’ t get caught up in prints, use what fits best on your baby and works best for you π also use a dry pail or bag for storing between washes
hanging diapers in the sun to get rid of stains
for washing cloth diapers I always add baking soda and vinegar
Best trick-change baby quick before she rolls over!
no really, sew your own accessories, it’s way cheaper, it’s easy (bags are straight lines, wipes are zig-zagged edges) and doesn’t take that long at all, especially if Daddy can watch the baby while you sew! And mindless crafting improves your sanity.
Sundrying helps with stains!
I haven’t started yet, but I made some DIY liners and I hope to avoid stains from poo π
I don’t have any tricks yet since we haven’t started yet (baby boy is due in a few weeks), but I am quite proud of myself because I made some prefolds out of my husband’s old work shirts!
This Will be my first cloth diaper baby so I have no tricks yet.
I stuff pockets with a hemp prefold for super overnight absorbency.
Rinse diapers right away to prevent stains and stink.
