Back to School Pictures

August 20, 2014 By Melanie

I was super thrilled last week to find out that one of my old Back to School pictures was featured in a special on the Good Housekeeping website. I absolutely love to make special photo mementos of my their first and last days of school. I often use them in their yearly Shutterfly books or print them out for their keepsake boxes.

This was a particularly special year as little Miss Lulu headed off to Kindergarten. Honestly, I was a little emotional for about a minute but I am also super excited to watch her grow and learn. She is a very smart little girl and I can’t wait to see how she is stretched and challenged during her first year of school.

The (not so) little Mister started 4th grade. Considering how challenging he finds school, he is always eager to head back. He loves his friends and he loves learning. I am nervous about this year. His homeroom teacher is supposedly a little grouchy and difficult. She teaches his hardest subject, math. Fortunately he has his IEP in place and I know he will be fine.

Those pictures are so cute! I love how you added their interests to the pictures! Right now my oldest is 3 so I don’t have to worry about back to school pictures yet!!

Great way to keep the creative photos going for big kids! I’ve been looking for ways to do cute pix now that my kids are getting older, and adding those interests is great.

Adorable pictures! We are planning on homeschool at the moment. But I definitely want to make sure and mark the start of the school year for my kids with photos still.

Being a photographer, I tend to take a lot of photos of important days and events, but I really try to refrain but stuffing my camera in everyones face! Sometimes it can be hard and that’s definitely something I need to constantly remind myself of! These photos are priceless though!

This is so fun! My daughter isn’t in school yet but seeing things like this makes me want to do something special each year. What a great photo book they would make when graduation rolls around!

Love the photos! I cannot wait to do this once my kids are in school.
