This kids and I were able to head out to the Fresh Thyme Market for their opening day and it was crazy! I don’t normally like to do my grocery shopping with one much less all three kids but it had to be done. Of course they had an absolute BLAST and I would have taken a lot more pictures except there were a million people in the store!
So here is the deal. I am UBER jealous of my North Columbus friends. Not only do they have two other popular natural food stores but now they have this amazing in-between market. Plus in addition to the store that just opened in Dublin another is slated in the Worthington area in 2016. I am kind of hoping if I mention it here in the first couple of paragraphs, maybe one of their site developers will make it down to Grove City and see how desperately we need a store like Fresh Thyme in south Columbus.
So here are some highlights:
The store is awesome! It isn’t huge so it completely has that “market” feel to it. I was super surprised to notice that there set up is not at all like a tradition grocery store, as most of the fruits and vegetables are located in the back of the store. When you first walk in you are smacked right int the face with the smell of fresh baked goods. Then off to the right is the deli and butcher shop. I even spied some lobster tales. Yum. Off to the center aisles and you will find some bulk goods including candies, crackers and nuts. I am certain my kids could have loaded up the entire cart right in the bulk food aisle. At the far end of the store, you find all of your prepackaged goods and there was a great mix of organic, natural and everyday items.
There was also a cafe, vitamins area and who knows what else I might have missed. And all of these was wrapped with a nice bow of really competitive and affordable prices. There really is so much packed in this market sized store that you can be in and out with a cart of super healthy, affordable items without much effort. For mom’s like me, that is a total plus!
One of the best “perks” that Fresh Thyme Market offers is their Wednesday “Double Ad” day. This is the day when you can shop all the sales from two weeks. (Did I mention how sad it makes me that this store isn’t right around the corner?) This sounds awesome! I wish we had something closer to me like this. I also live in Ohio (Northwest, outside of Toledo) but there isn’t anything like this very close to me that is convenient.
