Praise & Giveaway! Go! Go! Smart Animals Forest Adventure Playset

Knowing that Ez is Deaf, I often find myself hesitant to take on reviews of toys that have a heavy focus on sound or music. At the same time I find that the there are very few toys on the market today that are not strongly focused on auditory enjoyment. When I was asked to review the Go! Go! Smart Animals Forest Adventure Playset, I almost turned it down. I am so very glad that I didn’t.

From the moment that we got this amazing Vtech playlet out of the box, Ez couldn’t keep his hands off it. He was absolutely fascinated with putting the bear in and out of the little cave. He also quickly caught on that all the animals could roll across the floor and he would laugh and push them as fast as he could. It wasn’t until a couple of days in that I caught him doing something really peculiar. He would take the hippo and the bear and put them up to his ear. When I noticed he was trying to “listen” to the Go! Go! Smart Animals, I was completely surprised. He had never shown even the slightest inclination that he could hear some of the toys.

GoGoSmartAnimals2
Once I realized that he could hear some of the songs and sayings, I would push the button on their heads, sign to him what was being said and then hand him the animals. He quickly realized that when the animal’s light was on, that it was making a noise and he began to turn them on and off, “listen” to them and then put them back onto the playset. Oddly enough, he can’t hear the tiger so he will hold him up to his ear and then push the button and then put him back down.

The Forest Adventure Playset is very sturdy. It is bright and colorful. There is a cave that allows for Ez to practice putting the animals in and out and the the track to roll the animals around on. It took everything in my power not to purchase the Deluxe Track set so that he could get the full benefit of the playset and animals. Instead, I put it on his Christmas list because I know that he will just love it.

I wanted to get a much better video but it is hard to get him to perform like a little monkey for me. So here is a “from the distance” video.  You can see how much he enjoys his new toys.

I did not enter the contest as my son already has this toy but I just want to say that He loves this toy. He has a bunch of the animals now as well as some of the vehicles. He also has the deluxe fire station set and the animals can go down that track as well. My older son who is 3.5 also loves playing with this and the other go go sets.

Vtech toys are so cute and colorful. I should get some because my daughter doesn’t have too many toys that make noises and she loves her jumperoo that makes the noises and lights up.
