Every time I think I have my children (and husband) “trained” not to open boxes without permission, I will come home to find something opened and being enjoyed. Fortunately for the Amazing Zhus’s, this is exactly what happened. Unfortunately for Mom, I didn’t get to take my all of my before picture.
Honestly (just between us), I think the hubs desperately wanted to give the little miss something to do because she was home sick and bored silly. He tried to play innocent but he secretly looked happy. Needless to say, Lu had gotten a half day of play in before I even walked in the door. Either way, she was eager to show her brother and I all the tricks that The Amazing Zhu’s can perform.
For this review we received an Amazing Zhus Magicians pet, the Magicians Shell game and the High Dive. Each product comes with their own Amazing Zhus collector magic trick card.
The Amazing Zhu’s are geared for ages 4+ but I will say that the baby was just as mesmerized with the magic wand and our Amazing Zhu’s pet. He loved the light on the wand and even though he had no idea he was controlling Madame Zhu, he kept pushing the button to make the wand light up and then waving it at her. When she started rolling towards him, he would laugh and grab at it. (definitely a Deaf friendly toy, as there is no required speech commands or listening requirements for interactive play)
Lu (5) is a little impatient when being told HOW to use something. She loved the High Dive and was perfectly happy just letting Madame Zhu roll around on her circus ball. We both had a bit of a problem attaching the circus ball to the top of the high dive. The button is somewhat hard to click into place but after a little practice definitely becomes easier. She didn’t pay as much attention to the cards and had trouble understanding that the cards caused the pet to do certain tricks but she still loved the games.
Eph (9) on the other hand, was not as interested in the High Dive and instead loved the magic wand and the Magician’s Shells. He dragged the Zhu’s all over the house, testing out different cards on them and trying to master their tricks. He was especially fond of the shell trick and performed it several times for the amazement (and amusement) of his sister. He has made about 100 videos but I am just sharing one here:
