When we found out we were pregnant with our first, I couldn’t wait to head over to Babies “R” Us, grab my scanner and start picking out everything our little guy would need. With the help of a friend, I had compiled an excel spreadsheet with over 200 items listed. I loved waddling around the store trying to decide on colors, patterns and products that would make our new life easier.
Fast forward to 2013, we are expecting baby #3 and guess what I did again? I created a registry at Babies “R” Us. Why? They offer the best selection of baby items and several really great programs like Babies “R” Us Rewards and the VIP Program. The only difference this time, is that I had the luxury of completing my entire registry online.
My must have list:
- Fisher Price Rock n Play Sleeper – This rocker was hands down a life saver during little Ez’s for few weeks. I don’t know why but he slept so sound in it.
- Aden & Anais Swaddlers/Muslin Blankets
- Infant Car Seat – We chose Britax but BRU offers a great variety to fit all different needs.
- Stroller – BOB all the way! Being a runner, my BOB is one of my favorite pieces of baby equipment.
- Baby Carrier – You can’t go wrong with an Ergo.
- Baby Wrap Carrier – I love my Moby wrap. It is perfect for keeping your newborn close.
- Cloth Diapers – BRU offers a nice selection of cloth diapers. Especially if you are new to cloth diapering.
- Medela Breast Pump and accessories – Some insurances now cover the cost of a breast pump but you will need accessories and BRU is a great place to pick up bottles, storage bags and extra supplies.
- Baby Bath Tub, 1 -2 towels/wash cloths – I love having a baby bath that sits neatly in my sink. Keeps me from bending over and I have more control over the baby.
- Diaper Bag – I recommend two bags. One large bag for day trips and one smaller bag for quick outings.
- 1-2 Bottles -I avoid buying a whole set because babies can be very picky. I went through about 4 different ones with each kid before I finally found one that made the breast to bottle transition easier.
I know there are about a zillion other things that you should register for but these are more like my absolute necessities. The one other piece of advice I might give is that if you are low on space (we are) consider asking for gift cards in lieu of purchasing items that you might need when the baby is a little older. Like a high chair, convertible car seats and stationary entertainers.
However, you don’t have to worry because when your register in-store at Babies “R” Us you will have access to a full team of trusted and experienced Registry Consultants. Plus you will receive a special welcome package that includes a check list of essential items, invitations and coupons.
To make registering at Babies “R” Us even sweeter, sign up for a registry between now and November 15th and you could earn up to $200 on purchases made from your registry. That’s right! If your best friend gets that BOB stroller for you, you would get 10% back. Click here for more information on the Sweetest registry Deal Ever!
