Create Beautiful Memories

January 13, 2014 By Melanie

I went to the movies the other night and in the background was a sign that read, “Write Beautiful Things.” It kind of stuck in my head and I have thought about how I would like to work on making more conscious memories everyday. Time seems to go by so quickly. My little one is already 7 months old and my older son is turning 9 this week. I want to work on creating beautiful memories this year. I want to look back on 2014 and think, “now that was a beautiful year.”

How can you create beautiful memories this year?

Amen! I want to live in the moment. This can be so hard sometimes. I also want to capture the moment forever. I had so many pictures on my phone and never did anything with them. This year, I am printing them out and at least sticking them in photo albums. I always loved looking at pictures from when I was little and I hope my kids will want to too.

My husband and I are focusing on writing down 2 things we’re grateful for and 1 way we’ve seen God’s hand in our life each day at dinner. That helps us see and remember beauty.

How are you doing with this? I can’t believe we are in Sept. already!!! I always kick myself because I don’t “take enough pictures”. But I try to remind myself that I’m too busy having fun with my kids!!! My youngest was born in April with a pretty serious health problem. The whole time she was in the NICU, I kept forcing myself to take pictures of things. I thought, “I don’t want to remember this, but someday she will want to know!” One of my favorite pictures of me with both of my daughters was taken during that time. It’s truly a beautiful memory!
