Today was a beautiful day in central Ohio. So beautiful in fact, that I wish I had worn something much lighter for my first race of the season. This was the first time I ran the Flannagan’s St. Patrick’s Day 5k, but it probably won’t be my last. It was a great race with a fun “party” at the end. We didn’t partake in the festivities but we had a great time watching the people who did.
I had a pretty decent time for my first run out of the gate. I wasn’t really prepared, having done almost no running the past 3 months. They didn’t do a chip time but my clock time was 36:33 and we started way in the back of over 700 runners. My Ipod GPS had me at 35:00 at the three mile, so I am guessing I was about a minute quicker than than the race time.
I am changing up my goals for this season and will be training for some fun races. My girls and I are doing the Girls Tri Too mini triathlon in June and July and we are trying to put a team together for the Columbus 107 mile relay in June.
I really want to do a running/training post link up so, if you are interested, please post a comment. I think it would be great to support each other as we hit our goals and milestones this year. I am going to start putting it together in the next couple of weeks.
As Always,
Run Happy!

I’ve never done a run that coincided with a holiday or that had a party afterwards, what a nice way to have fun after the run!
