My family has outgrown our current home. We have 5 people in 1,100 square feet and 3 bedrooms. No basement and very limited storage. My garage looks like some hoarders house threw up in there and even I wanted to sort through it, I am not sure where I would start. Oh and let’s not forget that I have my mom’s house and my grandmother’s house in two storage units on the other side of town. And yeah, those need to be sorted as well.
And we want to adopt. We so badly want to add another member to our family.
We just can’t do all that in our little condo.
House hunting has been on our minds since this fall. We have have pretty limited parameters because we want to stay in our same neighborhood but move into the housing side. We need a 4 bedroom and I would really like a finished basement so I am not dealing with construction and children.
Last week a house came on the market that seemed great but was on a really busy corner. I posted a comment to my Facebook page about the location and it was interesting how differently the perfect house seems to each of us. Some people are perfectly happy living minimally in a tiny home and others had larger homes. One reader even shared a picture of her renovated farm house. I am sure that it absolutely lovely inside.
On Friday we finally had our showing. I was certain that I was just going to love it but in the end, I realized that this was not the perfect house for us. There was just something about the house that didn’t make my heart fall in love.
So now we are back to square one. I am ready to move forward with our family plans and I hope The Perfect House comes along soon.
Do you live in your dream house? What are some things aspects of a home that you feel are necessary? What are somethings you can live without?

Praying the write place will open up for y’all.
I don’t live in my ultimate dream home, but I love my home. It works perfect for us now and for our future. One thing I can’t live without is Storage. If it’s not already in the house, look for ways you can do built ins or ect. in order to create that.

I love our home and quiet neighborhood, but I’m not thrilled about the community. It’s not as family oriented as where we came from and there is a lot more older people. But we are about a half hour from all our family, so it’s nice to have support. We came from a home with a 3 car garage and basement, now a 2 car garage and no basement. So we’re still figuring out where to put things. God will bring you to the perfect home in His perfect timing.

I think it’s awesome that you are just moving forward with your plans. We have yet to live in our “perfect” home and we’re currently busting at the seams in our rental. Crossing our fingers that our next move will mean more room and less stuff. Can’t wait to read about your adoption journey.

We are currently looking for our dream home. We want land more than anything (for goats and chickens and such).

I don’t know if it’s my dream home but I do like our home. I need storage space….either a basement or an attic. Our attic is accessible through a pull down in the garage and I wish it was more easily accessible, but we make do. Closet space is also important to me.

I am not living in my dream home. As of now we’re in a condo and I would love to own a single family home and preferably not too close to any neighbors so I don’t have to worry about loud noises waking up my daughter. If I had my wish I would be living in the country but I don’t know about being away from so much of my family.
