NO FAST FOOD CHALLENGE = BIG FAIL
Ok, well, maybe not a BIG FAIL but I defintely did not go an entire 31 days without gracing the drive through window for a greasy cheeseburger, fries and a pop. What I did do, was significantly decrease the number times that I ate fast food from about 4-5 a week (i know – cringe) to 5 times the ENTIRE month. As far as I am concerned that was a big improvement.
I have to admit that I agree with Stacey (who’s awesome challenge this was) over at I’m a Lazy Mom that even though I reduced the quick stop at the drive through, I just changed my habits and when I wanted something “fast” I would just pop into a counter (Chiptole, Jimmy Johns, Panera) or a sit-down restaurant. So, needless to say, I didn’t really lose any weight but the whole challenge shed alot of light on my (very very poor) eating habits. It also put bright neon lights on some of the areas where I am really going wrong.
Since exercise isn’t really the issue, the truth is that I eat way way way to much convience/restaurant food. Which also means that I eat portions that are to big and drink too many refills on sugary beverages. I mean, who can so no to that 3rd (or 4th) refill when you are sitting at a restaurant. I also do not drink enough water. I hardly ever drink more than 16oz a day.
So, what I really need to do is get more organized! Because 99.5% of my problem is that I am not prepared to eat. Meals are a last minute decision, that often include an argument and then finally a “quick” solution. Not mention that I horrible tendency to feed the kids breakfast, make their lunches and then totally forget to take care of myself. Which ends up with me spending $9.00 on super unhealthy take out food during my brieft 30 minute lunch.
I need to get myself some organization tools like this cute board I saw on Pinterest. Or maybe, I need to just use the E-Mealz website that I pay for every quarter. Basically, I just need to get organized, make lists, create menus, prepare food in advance and have better time managment.
That is the lesson I learned during the No Fast Food Challenge!
Now on to November… Stacey has once again challenged us! November is officially No Soda/Pop Month. So throw out those delicious cans of sugary goodness. Break out those glass enviromentally friendly water bottles and join us as we Stop the Pop. That is right, all the way through Thanksgiving we are giving up carbonated beverages. So, as I sit her and sip my final small coke (what? it came with my #5) of the month. I accept the challenge.
Want to join us? Just head over to the I’m A Lazy Mom blog, read her post, make a comment and join the linky below! Use the hashtag #nosoda on Twitter during the month.

This challenge would be super easy for me because I never drink soda. LOL!
