Run 3 of 6 is in the books! I had a great time at the Fright Night 5k this past Saturday. It was my first night race and even though it wasn’t very frightening, it was definitely a “fun” running in the dark through a foggy dimly lit golf course. We also lucked out because it was 45 degrees, the weather cooperated and there wasn’t even a drop of rain.
My friends all asked what we were running for and there was no special cause associated with this race. Except for the cause of my desperate need to get fit and lose this 10lbs I put on since summer.
I have been working on my personal 5k goals but I put all those aside on Saturday to run with my friend Annissa. She and I have just gotten to know each other (outside our jobs) over the past year and I was thrilled to run with her on Saturday. She ran the Women’s Half with us last year and this was her first race since then. We were slow but we ran more than we walked and most importantly we finished! Makes me think of the quote, “The hardest step for a runner is the first one out the door.”

Now, on to the Grove City YMCA Turkey Trot this Saturday! Run Happy my friends and chase a big Turkey.

What a fun run but I feel like this would be a recurring nightmare after the run.
