Praise & Giveaway: Hearts for Hearts Doll

September 28, 2011 By Melanie

A couple of weeks ago, a sweet ‘big girl’ named Dell arrived on our door step.  She is a pretty American girl with big blue eyes and brown hair. Lu was thrilled with her new doll and since she is not a “baby” she kept calling her ‘big girl’ Della. The doll is actually recommended for ages 6+ but I let Lu play with supervised with her and took the smaller parts away unless I was there.

Along with her friendship bracelet and story book your Hearts for Hearts girl comes a friendship bracelet, story booklet, donation for girls in need through their partner World Vision and a special product code your daughter can use to unlock a free membership to the Hearts For Hearts Girls website, which provides access to the “myHeart” page and an array of games and activities.

Dell comes with a great American outfit, including jeans, sneakers and a hat. Lu especially loved her shiny earrings.  We also received a beautiful Sari gown for Dell to play dress up in. I was thrilled to get this outfit because we actually have an a family from India who lives down the street and they are always dressed in their traditional Saris. Lu calls them “princess” dresses when they are on the playground. The girls do not speak very much English but they never seem to let that get in the way.  I almost wish I had an extra girl to give to them. Can you imagine what it would be like to have a doll that looks and dresses just like you do?

In this video you can see Lu playing with Dell and having tea with her India tea set:

The Hearts for Hearts girls represent six girls from six different cultures: United States, Mexico, India, Laos, Ethiopia and Belarus. These dolls are a great way to teach your daughter about various cultures.

The Hearts for Hearts girls can be purchased through the Playmates Toys online store. You can also learn more about the girls by following their Facebook page.

Our Daughter would love the doll from India. She already loves India food and she loves learning about different parts of the world. She has a couple of book about India and would someday like us to take her there, which we intend to do when she gets older.

Thanks for the great giveaway. ~Pauline
