I Fell Off the Planet – It’s the TV’s Fault

A week or so ago at church, I was sharing the potential future name of baby #3 with my friend’s teen daughter when she started to swoon. I thought she was going to giggle or faint or something. It was surely more than I expected over the name Ezra. Bible names don’t typically invoke such crazy girly behavior. 

Then, as the redness started to drain from her face, she started to babble on about some TV show and the “really hot teacher guy’ named Ezra. So I did what all 40 year old women do, I came home and posted a very vague message on Facebook.

And this, my ladies, caused 20 comments to appear. The funny part is I never mentioned the name in my actual post but all my middle aged mommy friends knew exactly what I was talking about. Who knew? Apparently, I have been missing out.

Once I found this out, I figured I should at least do my due diligence and watch a couple episodes just to make sure that naming my baby Ezra wasn’t some huge mistake. I mean, we had already named our oldest Ephraim which was also slightly related to a TV show (Everwood) that I watched back when I first became pregnant. 

So I started watching, and 3 days and 20 episodes later, I have been completely sucked into the mysterious black hole of Pretty Little Liars. I wish I had a good excuse as to why I fell off the planet but I have nothing. Just a strange addiction to a made for teens television show. 

However, I am still loving the name Ezra and hearing it over and over just makes my heart swoon.
