I love our Elf on the Shelf! I love that every morning, for the entire month of December, that my kids wake up with a little bit of Christmas “expectation” in their hearts. They run down the stairs, not in search of a room full of presents but instead to see what Nico the Elf has been up to that night.
I am not very organized, so I don’t have some 14 day calendar planned out in advance. I do scan the Pinterest #elfontheshelf pages for ideas but since we have had Nico for the past 4 years, I have a lot of ideas of my own. Sometimes he just finds a shelf to sit on but every once in awhile he finds a way to surprise the kids with a little mischief or love. Don’t worry though, our Elf is not an overachieving Elf. He is just into simple, easy to clean, fun!
