About Me
Our family lives in Central Ohio. We have four wildly different, precarious children, Eph 11, Lulu 7, Ez 2 and Lydia (adopted from China) at age 5.
In addition to running Sunshine Praises, I am a full time Sign Language Interpreter with Sorenson Video Relay Services. I have a master’s degree from Gallaudet University and a bachelor’s in education from Flagler College.

I will be dedicated to using your product and offer an honest, thoughtful and thorough review. Product reviews, when applicable, will include detailed photos, videos, descriptions of the item and my own personal experience using your product. All items will be used by myself and my family.
In order to provide a full review of your product I request a normal, retail product to evaluate. This item will not be returned. However, in the unlikely event that your product is not something I feel I can endorse after I have used it, I will offer to return it to you.
I would love to offer giveaways for the same items that I reviewed. Giveaways would all be in a contest form and require individuals to complete a variety of tasks including, but not limited to joining your companies website, email list, Facebook, Twitter or other social network. Due to FTC rules the mandatory entry for all giveaways will always be to answer a question or enter their name an email. Giveaways last a minimum of 2 weeks and I request that all giveaway prizes be shipped directly from your company to the winners.
Disclosure Policy:
I disclose that all items have been given to me for review purposes. My official disclosure policy can be found here. All opinions are my own and others’ experiences may vary.
ABOUT OUR FAMILY
Now, let me tell you a little about myself and your product “testers.” I am a 43 year old mother of four thriving, exceptional children. My training and education include a degree in Elementary Education, Deaf Education and a Masters degree in Interpretation. I have been employed as a sign language interpreter for the past 20 years and prior to that was a special needs teacher.
My journey into natural parenting and non-toxic products is due in part to my four amazing children. While going green is definitely the hip thing to do, I began my quest for safer products after my son was diagnosed at the age of 3 with Sensory Integration Disorder and later with ADHD. I have become my own master of research when it comes to products that I bring into my home and offer to my family. While we are still not perfect we do as much as we can to recycle, reuse and reduce our impact on the environment and our lives.
The Kids
My first little love is my 12 year old son. Eph is an extremely spirited boy who loves all your typical boy stuff. He is very intelligent and will eagerly play with anything new. Eph does have ADHD and we treat his symptoms naturally with organic supplements and homeopathic treatments. He fills his time playing travel soccer, video games and watching YouTube.
Lovely Lulu is 8 years old. When she was born she had a very challenging medical diagnosis of subglottic stenosis and laryngialmalacia. She has severe food intolerances. With LuLu’s diagnoses we have learned a lot living allergy free and have significantly increased our focus on reducing our toxic exposure. Lu is into competitive All-Star cheerleading, Shopkins, and fashion.
Ez (also known as the Flash) is 3 years old. He is an expert at testing mom’s patience, loves anything with wheels and has strong opinions about superheroes. Ez is profoundly Deaf and uses ASL (American Sign Language) as his primary language. He is a Phonak hearing aid user and loves listening to music and creating his own little shows.
Lydia is our little love all the way from China. She joined our family in September of 2016 and is also profoundly deaf. Lydia loves all things girly including dresses, hair-bows and jewelry. She is a quick learning and loving finally having a language.
