Today is the first day of the Leap Out of your Box challenge hosted by Simply Stacie, Family Sanity Reviews, and Little YaYas. The premise of the challenge is easy, select some type of a challenge for yourself to get you out of a rut and in return have the opportunity to win some cool prizes. When they first posted this blog event, I was immediately interested. I have been working hard at keeping weight off, exercising more regularly and generally trying to stay fit but I know there is more to being fit than just a little exercise. So, I started to think about how I could leap out of my box.
Once I got my mind spinning with ideas, I realized that every time I thought about an activity, a friend of mine popped into my mind. I would think, wow, I would like to do that with Heather or I think Pam would really enjoy that. That is when I got the idea to do my own little mini team and decided to call it The Leap Project. I invited 20 of my woman friends to participate in a 30 day challenge starting today. Each of the women that I asked are going through some type of a significant event or change in their lives. Often when we go through something significant in our lives we tend to lose a part of ourselves. My goal was to have the The Leap Project give each of us an opportunity reclaim and rejuvenate ourselves. Honestly, what good are we as wives, mothers and friends if we are tired, weary and worn?
Twelve women have accepted the challenge and we are currently setting our goals and posting them in the Google group that I have established. Each of the women is making a physical, mental and spiritual goal for the next 30 days. Since we are all in different parts of the US, we will use email to provide support and encouragement for one another. The ultimate gift in the end is that each of the women in the group have found out a little bit about themselves, achieved something they didn’t think they could do and are able to face their personal challenges without fear.
I will continue to blog about the groups successes as well as my own. I hope you will offer your support and encouragement to us as we take a leap of faith.
My goals:
Physical: 120 miles in 30 days (walking, running, bicycling)
Mental: Write a new story in the blog at least 5 times a week.
Spiritual: Read my bible daily and attend bible study on Wednesday nights.

I am new here! Would love for you to come visit me too 🙂
