Hello My Name is Hope Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign

October 20, 2010 By Melanie

Up until this past summer, I had very little personal experience with cancer. I know you are all thinking…”REALLY???” But it is true. No one in my immediate family has ever had cancer, I have a group of spectacular girlfriends and they don’t have cancer [nor has their family].  Cancer has always been something associated to me from a distance. That is until now. Unfortunately, my mom has stage 4 colon cancer.  She was diagnosed this past July and is currently undergoing treatment.  As you can imagine, it has been a very difficult past few months and the future is still uncertain.

A message of hope is definitely something that I could use in my life these days. That is why I am delighted to share with you information about the “Hello My Name is Hope” campaign presented by Quill.com, a leading business-to-business online and direct marketer of office products.

To boost breast cancer awareness, Quill.com is inviting all Facebook users to post and personalize virtual “Hello My Name is Hope” stickers on their profiles to honor both survivors and victims of the disease. The familiar “Hello My Name Is” stickers take on new meaning with personalized messages of hope and support shared across the Facebook community.  For every sticker shared, Quill.com will donate $1 – up to $20,000 – to City of Hope, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center dedicated to research, treatment and education.

Throughout October, every sticker created will be displayed in a community gallery on the Quill.com Facebook page, creating a virtual wall of breast cancer messages and images.

So, help me spread the message of hope by visiting the Quill.com Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/Quill to create a sticker. For a complete selection of pink products and an overview of Quill.com’s breast cancer campaign, check out www.quill.com/thinkpink.

Disclaimer: No compensation was received for this post, I was entered into a contest for a gift card with www.Quill.com and Mom Select.

What a great idea. We’ve all been posting Cancer Awareness profile pics on fb, but I’ve wondered if there were anything we could do to raise money and awareness. Thanks for sharing. Praying for your mother.
