Praise & Giveaway: Agloves

November 29, 2010 By Melanie

Touch screens are becoming more and more popular, from phones, to electronic book devices, Ipads and more. Unfortunately, for those of us, who live in colder climates using our touch screen devices while wearing typical gloves is an impossible task.

Last year, you saw all kinds of companies making the gloves with just the pointer finger cut out.  Which works well if you only type with one finger but I assume that for most of us, we use two hands to type. The other popular item was the gloves that are half glove and half mitten.  Also a good idea if you are not going to be using your device for very long in the cold.

However, neither of these options work well for those of us who spend significant time outside and need to change our music, send a text or get information from the Internet off of our touch screen devices.

So what is the solution you ask? Agloves: Everyday Gloves Reinvented.  Agloves are specially made to produce the same conductivity that your bare fingers create enabling to you touch, slide and push your favorite touch-screen device.

Agloves are made with silver coated fibers knitted into a very soft fabric throughout the entire glove. The silver fibers allow for the entire glove to produce a bioelectric conductivity throughout the entire glove allowing you to have the exact same function you have with your bare hands. You can read more about the science behind the Agloves here.

I received a pair of Agloves to try out for the past several weeks. At first I wondered if the gloves would work as well as claimed.  Let me tell you, they DO and even better than I imagined.

As a runner, I use my Iphone to listen to music and for the running program that marks my time and distance.  The first day out I ran 8 miles with my Agloves on. It was 40 degrees when I started and the gloves kept my hands surprisingly warm.  I was able to check my running map, send a text to my husband (he gets worried when I am out alone) and make adjustments to my song selections.  The gloves even worked through the plastic cover on my armband without any problem.

The next week the Agloves ran the annual Turkey Trot with me! Once again, I was impressed with how warm they kept my hands and I had no problems operating my Iphone. In the past it would have required me to take off one glove, while running, make adjustments and then put my glove back on.

Agloves are now my go to gloves. I have them tucked in my purse and love to read my Facebook while waiting for the car to warm up. My hands nice and toasty.

You can buy your own Agloves from their online shop for $17.99
or you can WIN a pair here!

I love the idea of warm gloves that you don’t have to remove to use touchscreen devices! I would use them when I walk my three dogs at 5am to catch up on email on my iphone!

The website has a size chart which is perfect. I have long fingers and it’s sometimes hard to find gloves that fit *comfortably*. I would use them to tie my shoes while running since I don’t carry devices while I run. (Heehee…)

Oh, this a product who’s time has not only come but has been here for a good 15 years.

I learned that the nylon fibers of these gloves are silver-coated. This silver-coating is what enables the conductivity in the gloves.

I learned silver is the key ingredient that allows Agloves to actually work on touch screens. I would use my agloves with my iphone.

I learned that DailyBuzzTV and Dr. Frank name Agloves “Best of CES 2011.”
I’d use them for texting on my cell phone, thanks.
