Help! Help! My Music Is Killing My Run

March 19, 2012 By Melanie

I have this fancy little item called an iPod. Maybe you have heard of them? I have a slew of songs on it, along with 3 “running” playlists. You would think that I would have something to keep me going. But no, instead I find myself fiddling with my Ipod, trying to filter through my songs for something to make me Boom Boom Pow myself to the finish line.

I would love to sit here and tell you that I listen to only inspirational music, I don’t. I have a great Christian running list but I also love some seriously hard core music that makes me want to pick up my pace.

This is where I need you…

I am desperate for some new tunes to help me train. Anything that will cause me to lose myself in the music and take the focus off the next step.
Suggestions Please? Old, New, Rock, Rap…bring it on.

I only listen to Christian music, so all I can say is groups like Skillet, Disciple,Toby Mac, Manafest, Kutless..those groups have some really rockin Christian music. Sorry I can’t help you with any others.

Take it ol’school girl…..those songs from college that made you back it up or dance all night!
I personally take Kid Rock, Metallica, MIA, Lady Gaga, the Beastie Boys, Cinderella, G & R, Enimen, Danzig, Foo Fighters, Offspring, White Strips, and a ton of classic rockers & head-bangers on my runs….it’s need to be pretty hardcore to get me pumped for that last leg….I find myself hitting repeat and actually playing a song multiple times in a row if it’s getting my adrenaline going….also try Euro techno pop, makes me laugh while running!
    Love you girl – D

I don’t have an iPod, so I’m not sure how they work. But on my iPhone, you can download an app called Pandora. You put in the artist you like and then it plays similar style music. Do iPod’s have apps?
